Governing law
This site is governed by the federal laws of Canada that apply to it, subject to the rights that the law grants to consumers.

Points to check before publishing:

  • Placeholders: the brackets (legal name, legal form, address, NEQ, GST/QST numbers, publication manager, privacy policy link) need real values. They aren’t a translation issue, but leaving them in would look unfinished and unprofessional.
  • “Recommended age”: the notice refers to an age that appears nowhere on the site yet. Get it from the supplier and add it to the product page.
  • Governing law: “federal laws of Canada” is unusual, because consumer law is mostly provincial. Since you have an NEQ, it would more normally say “the laws of the Province of Quebec and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein”. I’m not a lawyer, so confirm this wording.
  • French-language requirement: if you sell to Quebec consumers, Quebec’s French-language rules (Bill 96) may require a French version of the site and its legal pages. I can’t confirm how that applies to you, so check with a lawyer or the OQLF before launch.
  • Toy safety: a children’s toy with a battery and small parts has Canadian product-safety rules, so check the supplier’s compliance documents (e.g. CE/CPC or test reports).

Send me the next policy (refund, privacy, terms or contact) when you’re ready.
